The Cross-Island Line (CRL) Environmental Impact Study (EIA) report for Soil Investigation has been announced in the press and the documents are available for public perusal and feedback. The Nature Society Singapore (NSS) along with other green groups and knowledgeable individuals were engaged with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in a process of consultation that oversaw the development of this EIA.

Tthis Fri Feb 19, Mr Tony O’Dempsey will discuss the engagement process as well as critical issues of impact relating to the proposed CRL and in particular the anticipated soil survey. The talk will be at the NSS office from 730 to 830pm. More info on their Facebook event page.



Love MacRitchie Upcoming Walks starting Aug 2015

Once again, FREE public guided nature walks at MacRitchie Forest that were started in response to the LTA’s announcement of the new Cross Island Line MRT. An environmental impact assessment (EIA) is currently being carried out by Environmental Resources Management (S) Pte Ltd and the EIA report is to be completed by next year.

The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum will be holding the Fourth Biodiversity of Singapore Symposium (BoSS IV) on 1 Aug at the National University of Singapore. The Guest of Honour is Minister of State Desmond Lee and the Keynote speech will be by Prof Rudolf Meier.
